ZAZ Sens
Engine with displacement of 1.3 l and power of 70 hp produced by Melitopol factory was the first Ukrainian engine with MPI or as people say “with injector”. Developed on the basis of МеМЗ-2457 engine, which had been installed on “Tavria” and “Slavuta”, the new engine was equipped with new cylinder block and pistons with diameter 75 mm instead of 72 mm. The engine received new designation МеМЗ-307 and showed itself as reliable and enduring one. It successfully passed test for trouble-free functioning such as non-stop operation with full load and full throttle at 5300 rpm during 300 hours.
New power train turned out to be dynamic, powerful and low-consumption. Take-off of fully loaded vehicle, fast acceleration to maximum speed, good respond to throttle opening, fast cold start and stable operation in all modes raised the reputation of Melitopol engines and “Sens” itself as high-quality, inexpensive family car, for which speed is not the main factor. “Sens” perfectly fits intense urban mode and overcomes both steep and long ascents with confidence. For convenience of movement in heavy urban traffic “Sens” has HMSL.
“Sens” was equipped with liquefied petroleum gas kit (LPG kit) of Italian company “Tartarini” and became more attractive. Insignificant loss of power (about 4%) and dynamics is compensated by fuel saving. LPG kit of latest generation with electronic control module gives possibility to control the level of gas in gas tank and in case of emergency to start using gas.
Thanks to spacious passenger compartment, powerful and low-consumption engine, easy steering and enduring suspension “Sens” excellently showed itself both as a traveling car and what is more important as a taxi, where vehicle operation conditions demand much of reliability of all parts and assemblies.
Constantly growing demand gives a convincing proof to the fact that “Sens” is reliably taking its position in “C” class in upcoming market of Ukraine.
