On the 22^nd of September 2009 Russian newspaper "Business gazeta" published an article under the title "It is planned to manufacture a foreign car almost by the price of domestic cars in Yelabuga", which was reprinted by several Russian internet media. The author of the article expresses some assumptions concerning supposedly existing plans on transferring the production of Chevrolet Lanos cars from Zaporozhye city (Ukraine) to Yelabuga city (Tatarstan).

CJSC "Zaporozhye Automobile Building Plant", as the manufacturer of Lanos, Sens, Chance cars, officially declares the following:

Currently CJSC "Zaporozhye Automobile Building Plant" doesn't have any [lans on transferring the production of Lanos cars to Russian federation and other CIS countries. Zaporozhye Automobile Building Plant didn't conduct any official negotiations with Mr. Mylonas on arrangement of Lanos cars' production on the industrial site of "Myla Motors" LLC.

Lanos cars have been produced in Ukraine since 2004 in Zaporozhye city on the basis of License Agreement, signed between CJSC "ZAZ" and GMDAT company, which strictly identifies the production and sales territories for the car.

Nowadays these cars are being sold on the territory of Russian federation under the trade mark "ZAZ Chance" by the company "QUEENGROUP", which has signed a three-year distribution contract with CJSC "ZAZ".
